Study Service (STS) at Aalborg University is facing a major reorganization with the establishment of three new teams and a new management team. As part of the reorganization, a new deputy director will also be appointed, and University Director Søren Lind Christiansen has appointed Maj Rosenstand. She is Deputy Director of Aalborg University Library (AUB) and has also been Acting Deputy Director of Study Service for the past six months.
As of 1 July and for the next three years, Maj Rosenstand will be deputy director of both AUB and STS.
University Director Søren Lind Christiansen is delighted that Maj Rosenstand has agreed to take this on, and he is looking forward to continued collaboration:
“Maj already knows the unit very well and can therefore help ensure continuity in Study Service in a time of major change. During the interim period, I noticed the good working relationship that Maj Rosenstand has with the staff and managers in Study Service. She is good at cultivating collaboration and skilled at leading managers, and she has the courage it takes to drive a transformation and cultural change like the one Study Service is facing," says University Director Søren Lind Christiansen.
Maj Rosenstand is looking forward to working with the skilled, committed staff at STS to put the student at the centre of both the administrative work and the guidance and counselling services.
“The next few years will bring major changes to the way we think about programme structure as the Master's degree reform increases the needs of individual students for advice and guidance on everything from admission and stays abroad to well-being support and career guidance. In addition, the university is facing the implementation of a new study administration system – an implementation that can only succeed if together we can create the necessary changes in work procedures and organization, across study environments and administrative units at AAU, Maj Rosenstand says.
“As deputy director of AUB, I have appreciated for many years how much you can achieve when the focus is on collaboration across Shared Services, departments and degree programmes, and now I’m also looking forward to collaboration in the programme area, she adds.
AUB and STS will continue as independent units. After three years, the university director will reconsider the position of deputy director of Study Service. Funds will be provided to AUB to strengthen coordination and management at AUB in the new structure.
