Jennifer Quint is one of Europe's most talented epidemiologists with a focus on clinical epidemiology. Over the past 10 years, she has had an impressive production, where in recent years she has focused on the respiratory area. She is one of the leading researchers in the field.
Jennifer Quint is a medical doctor and professor of respiratory epidemiology. She completed a BSc in Molecular Medicine at the University of London in 1999, and the following year she received her professional medical degree (MBBS) from the same university. Her CV also includes a number of impressive titles, including being an Honorary Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Brompton Hospital – a clinical title that reflects her expertise and leadership in respiratory medicine. She is head of the Respiratory Electronic Health Record group at Imperial College London, and she serves as Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Thorax. In addition, she is Associate Director of the Early Career Researcher Institute (ECRI) at Imperial as well as Associate Director of Respiratory Data Science Catalyst – both roles underline her influence and leadership in academic development and data science. Her work with early career development as Academic Deputy Director of the Early Career Researcher Institute is also known outside the country's borders.
Pioneering vision for Health data across nations
Jennifer Quint's work in combining clinical insight with epidemiological skills in clinical epidemiology is exemplary. As head of the Electronic Health Record group in Respiratory Surgery at Imperial College London, she has focused on respiratory diseases and their impact on patients' health and the use of health resources. By linking research with practice, she has provided insights to both clinical researchers and policymakers, the latter as head of NHS England's respiratory data strategy and head of analysis for the National Respiratory Audit Programme.
