- This was a fascinating first visit to Aalborg University. What you mean for the green transition is impressive. I look forward to coming again and meeting students.

This was the message from the new U.S. ambassador to Denmark, Alan Leventhal, when he and his wife Sherry Leventhal visited AAU in Aalborg on Thursday, 4 August.

The ambassador met with Rector Per Michael Johansen and Jakob Stoustrup, Pro-dean of the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, to talk about cooperation and research on green climate solutions.

- It was a pleasure to meet with the ambassador. He was very interested in hearing about Aalborg University's contribution to the green transition and our special problem-based learning model. This bodes well for an expansion of the already extensive cooperation we have with universities in the United States, the rector said after the meeting with the ambassador.

Alan Leventhal has been U.S. Ambassador to Denmark since 1 July 2022. He has a background in the business world, including board chair and CEO of Beacon Capital Partners, a publicly traded properties company. He is also a Life Member of The MIT Corporation, Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s board of trustees.
