The choice of a degree programme is approaching for a new cohort of young people, so AAU is giving them a behind-the-scenes look at 'Open University' on 17 and 19 June. Potential students will have the opportunity to experience and see where their future student life will be.
"We want to give young people on gap years an opportunity to get up close and personal with the programmes they are considering applying for. The event includes guided tours of the university, presentations about student life and the opportunity to try a mini lecture," says Annette Lind, Head of Section, Student Outreach and Events, AAU Communication and Public Affairs.
Denmark's young people are taking more and more gap years before they start higher education. Open University is intended as an event that can help young people who are finding it difficult to choose a degree programme or who are worried about whether they will fit in at a university. Therefore, participants also can get help with everything from admission requirements to special pedagogical support (SPS) at the event.
"In order to make choosing a degree programme straightforward and demystify what a university is, our emphasis is on making the event as informal as possible. Young people can come to just hang out and feel the atmosphere or have a chat with our students," says Annette Lind.
All young people are welcome to stop by AAU Open University with friends and family, and the event does not require registration, so share the news and help young people with choosing a degree programme.
